When our client handed us the brief — retro Barbie pink kitchen — we didn't blink. We leaned all the way in. Behind the original pocket doors and intact millwork of this beloved South Philadelphia rowhouse, we built something between a fever dream and a design manifesto: blush cabinetry, a pink SMEG that commands the room, original terrazzo floors that were practically born for this moment, and a mauve subway tile backsplash that proves pink has range. The bones of the house stay. this kitchen is a love letter to a certain plastic icon — all the nostalgic glamour, none of the limitations. The '50s meets the Dreamhouse. Philadelphia approved
